His First Novel : How it Happened ?

In 2007, I sold everything I owned, packed my bag and placed myself under a palm tree by Lake Lugano, laptop in lap.
Exactly twelve months later, I finished the manuscript. The one I had been carrying around in my mind for so long. Lovingly, it rips the twentieth century of all its glory and righteousness. And yet it embraces life. How could it not? How could we not? The alternative must be boring beyond everything!
Anyway, I sent the manuscript to six different publishing companies. Five of them turned it down, the sixths called me and said yes before they finished reading. Success was in the making, they said. They got bold and printed seven thousand copies in the first go. "Seven thousand? Are you sure?"
"You can never be sure", they said.

It sold ten million😎.Encouraging enough to give it another try✍

    WHAT HAPPENED NEXT??

📒 SECOND NOVEL : The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden (2013)

Buy the Book Here: Paperback | Kindle

Book Blur: On June 14th, 2007, the King and Prime Minister of Sweden went missing from a gala banquet at the Royal Castle. Later it was said that both had fallen ill, the truth is different. The real story starts much earlier, in 1961, with the birth of Nombeko Mayeki in a shack in Soweto. Nombeko was fated to grow up fast and die early in her poverty-stricken township, be it from drugs, from alcohol or just from plain despair. But Nombeko takes a different path. She finds work as a housecleaner and eventually makes her way up to the position of chief advisor, at the helm of one of the world's most secret projects. Here is where the story merges with and then diverges from reality. South Africa developed six nuclear missiles in the 1980s and then voluntarily dismantled them in 1994. This is a story about the seventh missile the one that was never supposed to have existed. Nombeko Mayeki knows too much about it and now she's on the run from both the South African justice and the most terrifying secret service in the world. She ends up in Sweden, which has transformed into a nuclear nation and the fate of the world now lies in Nombeko's hands. Jonasson introduces us to a whole cast of eccentrics a nerve-damaged American Vietnam deserter, twin brothers who are officially only one person, three careless Chinese girls, an angry young woman, a potato-growing Baroness and the Swedish King and Prime Minister. Quirky and utterly unique, 'The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden' is a charming and humorous account of one young woman's unlikely adventure.

Confession Of An IT Employee by Shalini

    Howdy Reader's

    Welcome Back!!

    Hope you'll doing great!

Here's a Book Review of one of favorite book by Shalini.

The title of the book was too catchy and I could relate to many things that were narrated in the book.

So, are you ready to Read the Review??

    Okay!!

    Before That!

Read the Blur of the book:
Confession of an IT Employee by Shalini Book Review

Confessions of an it employee: #101 I took the job that everybody took. #201 if a conference room is involved, it is bad news. #301 signing the bond—felt more like imprisonment and a lot less like employment. #401 last year, the company reported revenue of 30 billion u. S. Dollars. And yet, what they're paying us is not peanuts. It is the empty shell of the peanuts! #501 your colleagues are not your friends, they said. Were they right? A misunderstood employee, sanchita, falls into depression when she constantly fails to impress her boss, parents and her boyfriend. What happens when her childhood dream of becoming a writer resurfaces? Bhoomija, a village girl, loses her inhibitions to fit into the urban crowd. Does she find the love she is seeking, or does it leave her with an identity crisis? Behind his happy-go-lucky attitude, nishant is a guy overshadowed by his successful siblings. He spends most of his time getting wasted in bars as he feels he has no talent. Who changes his game? Alisha wants to move to the united states with her long-time boyfriend. But, fate has other plans. A tale of bosses from hell, endless traffic jams, sluggishness of mundane routine, and matters of the heart… can friendship survive in the corporate battle for ratings? Will they discover their hidden desires and have the courage to follow their passion?.

    And Now -

The Book Review "Confession of an IT Employee by Shalini"

As most of you may know, I work in an IT Industry where people work out their ass to earn. Those, BIGGG glass building cuts off us from the rest of the world as soon as we enter it. Though one may earn in lakhs, the health and fitness for most of the people are below average. Since I can correlate more of them happening in the IT culture, I wanted to read this book: "Confession of an IT Employee" instantly.

The story talks about the life of an Engineering graduate: Sanchita who gets herself placed in a reputed IT company in Banglore. Her excitement and nervousness grew as her joining day came closer.

On the day of joining, she meets another new joiner: Bhoomija. These two girls, fortunately, get placed in the same project. Though the initial days were good and happy, people around started to notice Sanchita with more curiosity, which created uneasiness.

The difference in the environment was obvious as Bhoomija was engaged with works while Sanchita was assigned none.
Things were growing out of control when she attends a meeting with the manager and other seniors to discuss her performance in the project. With one chance to prove her capabilities, she worked hard, yet nothing favoured her. The work pressure in the office and in her relationship was making her go into depression.

After a couple of weeks, she understood IT was not her cup of tea and at the same time, she was not in the position to leave this career as her parents will not approve of her writing career choice.

What did Sanchita do now?? was she able to prove her skills in her company or she left the job without giving any heeds to her parents will??

Read the book to know the story of Sanchita and her friends in the IT company!

This book felt so realistic to me, as I work in the same industry. Most of the incidents shared were so true that I have watched or faced them in real life. This book will surely be a gift for every IT employee who wanted to tell ppl how the industry work (exceptionals are always there)
